The Giant Grubs of the Hercules Beetle

Above is photo of the grub of a Hercules Beetle (Dynastes hercules); the largest of the rhinoceros beetles. The grubs can reach 4.5 inches (110mm) in length and weigh up to 120 grams. The bettle is native to Central and South America. Although rare, adult males can reach sizes of  6.75 inches (17 cm) in length.
