World’s Largest Snake Could Swallow Crocodiles Whole

Now that’s a snake!

A new exhibit at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum showcases the immense size of the largest snake to have ever existed on earth. The aptly named Titanoboa would have weighed over 11,000 kg and have reached a length of over 14 meters! The girth of this giant was around 1 meter, meaning that it could have easily devoured whole crocodiles. It’s thought that Titanoboa last inhabited the earth around 65 million years ago.
